Ruby’s First Year Milestones

It might not feel like it while you’re in the middle of those sleepless newborn nights, but the milestones in the first year of your baby’s life will fly by before you know it. A lot of careful thought and planning is involved from the newborn stage to the first birthday – you could blink and miss the most important thing: cherishing your family!

We had the opportunity to work with Melissa and Patrick to photograph the milestones leading up to Ruby’s first birthday. Of course, Ruby gave us plenty of help deciding on a color scheme, but we wanted to plan more elements that would tie the whole year together. Melissa and Patrick brought along a special ruby-red necklace to each shoot. We featured the necklace front and center and recreated a photo from Ruby’s newborn photoshoot at her six month and first birthday photoshoots.

A family photoshoot wouldn’t be complete without their dog, Daisy! Melissa mentioned how fun it is to look back on Ruby and Daisy’s relationship as they got closer. “Seeing Ruby crawl into Daisy’s crate for the first time and then feed her for the first time were great moments,” she said.

We’re so thankful we had the opportunity to photograph Ruby’s First Year milestones. We can’t wait to see what Ruby, Daisy, and the family are up to next!
